Where appropriate, a service may be provided by telephone or videoconferencing. You are responsible for the costs associated with setting up the technology needed so you can access telehealth services. Your psychologist will be responsible for the cost of the call to you and the cost associated with the platform used to conduct telehealth services.
Telehealth sessions are conducted on Microsoft Teams, which uses encrypted, secure video and audio. As with in-person sessions, everything discussed is confidential, subject to the usual legal expectations (risk of serious harm, court order or mandatory reporting obligations). Sessions are NOT recorded unless you are told otherwise and give written consent. Screenshots, screen recordings or sharing of this session outside the clinical record are not permitted by either party.
To engage in telehealth consultations, you will need access to a quiet, private space; and the appropriate device, i.e., smartphone, laptop, iPad, computer, a camera, microphone and headphones; and a reliable internet connection. By joining telehealth appointments you consent to receiving psychological treatment via telehealth and understand that telehealth carries the same confidentiality protections as face-to-face sessions but that no electronic transmissions can be guaranteed 100% secure. Telehealth may not be suitable for all presentations and your psychologist may recommend in-person care if needed. You may withdraw consent for telehealth and request in-person appointments at any time.
